2021 was a real trip.
After 2020, I wasn’t quite sure a year could go in a way that would surprise me until I met 2021. It pushed me, it broke me but most importantly, it grew me.
As I look at the year that was, I am filled with immense gratitude for all that I have accomplished. 2021 was a launchpad for bigger and better things in 2022. This year I want to use what I have learned and apply it to my goals- both professionally and personally.
This year will be all about being consistent.
One of the things I have learned about myself is how easily I give up. It does not seem to matter how hard or easy something is- I am quick to wave the white flag. I have always thought motivation was something that would just show up when I was fully prepared to embrace it. Gone is the hope that I’ll wake up with the motivation I long for. It turns out- the thing I was waiting for this whole time is me. I will have to do the early mornings and late nights. I will have to make small measurable goals and do the work that is needed to achieve them.
When it comes to motivation, the truth is- you are never going to feel like it. There will come a day when you just don’t want to- no matter how much you love or enjoy something. In 2022, this will be the year that I am consistent and true to my own word.
So step by step, day by day- I’ll move closer to my goals by showing up for myself.
