How fitting that the first Friday Five of 2023 be post number 23! So serendipitous!
As we kick off this new year together and year of fresh Friday fives, its important to me that you know something I am trying to do differently this year…
I am trying my best to spend and consume less. For more details about my new year of less, check out last weeks blog post here.
Friday fives have always been an opportunity for me test, try and share new products, services, books, podcasts, shows… with you! That will remain the same but with the intention of sharing more tried and true favorites with a few new things sprinkled throughout.
The truth is, many of the things I share are likely new to you so I look forward to sharing many more of my new and old favorites along the way with you by my side.
Today’s post will be a mix of both new and old so let’s get right into it!
Apple Watch Band| Amazon
I finally joined the Apple Watch family shortly after Christmas this year. After years of mulling over the purchase, I finally clicked checkout. Honestly, I love it and sort of wish I had gotten it sooner. I love that it helps me track my health and fitness goals as well as being able to communicate via iMessage.
When I picked out the face of my watch, I knew exactly what I planned to have as the band. A silver and gold linked band that would pair well with all my jewelry was at the top of my list. I found this one on Amazon last week. It shipped quickly and removing linked to fit my tiny wrists was a breeze. If you are in the market for a durable, classic band, I highly recommend this one. Apple Watch USB Charger| Amazon
One thing I learned about this watch is that the charge only lasts about 48 hours. Because I intend on wearing it often to track my steps, having a backup travel charger for my car just made sense. This charger is great for the car or anywhere you might plug a USB into. Its small, can fit in my purse and that makes it an easy way for me to get a charge whenever I am on the go. It comes in multiple colors too. Linked here.
Large Makeup Brush| Amazon
This brush is not new to me or new to my page. It is a beloved brush in my collection. I recently pulled it back out while doing a major purge of all things beauty. It easily buffs out foundation and works really nicely with the new product I am about to mention. Skip the high end foundation brushes and grab this one. Once you try it- you’ll understand exactly what I mean. Linked here.
Fit Me Foundation| Amazon
As I mentioned, I recently did a major clean out of all my beauty products. One of the drawers that was most full was my foundations. I had noticed that I had the most shade range of this foundation as it is one I like to use all year round. I have shades for all seasons. The dewy formula is perfect for my dry skin. It doesn’t settle into the fine lines I have (from aging gracefully) and it gives a truly dewy without looking greasy- glow. It is one of my all time favorites and I am glad I moved it back to the front of my beauty drawer. Linked here.
Baked Bronze N Brighten|Amazon
This product deserves so much praise. I have had it in my beauty drawer for years but never have I ever seen someone else talk about it. This contact is great for adding multidimensional warmth to your face. It had different shades of brown, pink and pearl that work together to give the prettiest bronze glow. I use both shades fair and medium during the year.
A tip I learned recently: current makeup trends are focusing less on contouring and more on a natural bronzer glow. If you are looking to freshen up for collection and struggle finding the right bronzer, I highly suggest finding your shade and trying this one out. Also, a little goes a long way so the price will be well worth it in the long run. Linked here.
That wraps up this week’s favorites! If you have any questions or comments about the products I shared- feels free to share them in the comments below. I love hearing from you. If you have any requests for suggested Friday fives, send them my way as well.
Until then,
