This week, my 3rd segment with WWLP’s lifestyle show Mass Appeal (an affiliate with NBC) aired. I have loved the opportunity to my passion for fashion. Mass Appeal is a lifestyle show that shares local business and happenings in the western Massachusetts area. I grew up watching the show and to have been asked to share my fashion tips was an honor.
During my segment, Kayla Hevey and I discussed ways to incorporate “what’s hot and what’s not” fashion trends for 2023. We focused heavily on shopping your own closet. Finding pieces that will get you the most bang for your buck (mix and match items)is key. If you have been here a while, you know my style airs on the side of being classic. When it comes to trends, I only indulge if I know I’ll get use out of them. Today I am sharing an approachable way to keep up with the hot new trends of 2023.

My Tips Before You Shop:
Look deep into your own closet before heading out to shop. You might be surprised what you find in there. When shopping, look for gaps in your current wardrobe. Many of the items you will find here are from my own closet. The only item I did not already own was the clutch handbag. I invested $17 dollars in adding 1 new trendy item that will sure yet use now and in the future.
You don’t need to break the bank to stay current in fashion. Check what you have first and only add items you know you’ll use. Many of the pieces I’ll be sharing today are ones that are both trendy and classic wardrobe staples. All you’ll need to do is rotate them to the front of your closet.

Outfit #3

2023 Fashion Trends Shown Here:
- Oversides blazer
- Viva Magenta (Pantone’s color of the year)
- Leather pants
- Ballet flats
- Metalic accessories: clutch
- Silver necklace
For a girls night out or date night, I love to pull out all the stops. It is the best time to pull your favorite wildcard pieces within your wardrobe. I love adding color, textures and pairing them with structured basics like a camisole or blazer.
Remember what I said earlier about menswear? Blazers continue to trend well in 2023. The one I have linked today it a favorite for me. The trend is to find something a tad oversized without making it look like you stole your dad’s suit. I love the fit of the one I have especially for anyone who is petite like me.
Pantone releases forecasted color trends often throughout the year. I love to see what they deem to be the it colors. Viva Magenta is a hot red pink that is the perfect way to bring a pop of color to your closet. When shopping look for a shoe, dress, top or lipstick in this color for an easy way to be current without investing too much into this trend.
Metallics are shining bright this year and I love adding this in subtle ways. A handbag, jewelry or footwear is the best way to do it in my book.

The key to keeping up with what’s trending it to find little ways to add them without going overboard. The truth about trends is that they are hot one minute and not the next. Investing all of your time, energy and money into pieces that wont be “in” at any given second is just not worth it. Finding ways to make them accessible to you and your wallet is key!
Until then,
